BTHVN 2020: Beethoven's Violin Concerto & Eighth Symphony

Beethoven wrote just one violin concerto, but it has been described as one of the most perfect, and astounding violinist Augustin Hadelich has been playing and studying it for almost 20 years. The cheerful Eighth Symphony will be paired with a commission by Irish composer Donnacha Dennehy.

“I’ve been playing Beethoven’s Violin Concerto since I was 8 years old. I never grow tired of it, regardless of how many times I hear it and play it,” says Hadelich. “I love the simple, perfect second movement, one of the most beautiful and transporting moments in the violin repertoire.” - The Seattle Symphony
