Classical: Kids get in free!

The Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra is making it easier than ever for families to enjoy classical music together. Children 6-18 get in free with the purchase of an adult ticket for Classical Series concerts.

How to get free tickets for your child:

  • Free child tickets may be reserved through the ISO Box Office by calling 317-639-4300 or emailing iso@indianapolissymphony.org
  • At least one adult classical ticket must be purchased to qualify for this promotion. For each adult ticket purchased, patrons may request one free child ticket.
  • Groups of 10 or more are encouraged to apply for the ISO’s Prelude Pass program.
  • Free child tickets may become available for select Printing Partners Pops Series concerts at the ISO’s discretion. Contact the Box Office to find out if Pops Series tickets are available for the “Kids get in free” promotion.
  • This promotion does not apply to previous purchases and may not be applied to any other series apart from Classical or select Pops
  • The group rate of $13.50 per ticket applies to student groups. Email groups@indianapolissymphony.org for more information.

A few more tips about bringing children to classical concerts:

  • Classical concerts are recommended for ages 10 and up. While the ISO’s policy references children ages 6-18, please use your discretion when choosing to bring your child to experience an ISO concert.

  • Most classical concerts have a run time between 100 to 115 minutes, including a 20-minute intermission.
  • The Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra is proud to be certified as a Sensory Inclusive institution by KultureCity. This certification assists the ISO in providing the best experience for guests who have sensory needs. Learn more.
  • The ISO offers a sensory room on the third floor of Hilbert Circle Theatre for guests who require a quiet space.
  • For children too young to attend a full-length classical concert, the ISO offers the free Teddy Bear Concert Series at various libraries around the Indianapolis area. The Teddy Bear Concert Series is designed for children ages 3 through 7 and introduces them to the instruments of the orchestra through storytelling, movement, and live music. See the upcoming schedule
