Jonah Krolik

Cello

Musician Bio

Jonah Krolik joined the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra cello section in the 2022-2023 season. He received his Bachelor Degree with a Performer’s Certificate award from the Eastman School of Music, where he was a dual degree student studying cello at Eastman while completing pre-med studies at the University of Rochester. Jonah continued on to complete a Master’s in Music at the Juilliard School in New York.

Jonah was awarded scholarships to attend a number of prestigious music festivals, including the International Musicians Seminar at Prussia Cove, Tanglewood Music Center, the Sarasota Music Festival, Music Academy of the West, and Banff Centre Masterclass program. In the summer of 2020, Jonah was a semi-finalist in the inaugural Isabel Bader Canadian Cello Competition.

An avid chamber musician, Jonah has had the pleasure to study under the direction of the Takács, Juilliard, and Tokyo String Quartets, participate in masterclasses for the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln center, as well as perform alongside Jeremy Denk and Frank Morelli.

Jonah’s primary teachers include Steven Doane and Natasha Brofsky. He plays on a cello made by David Wiebe.
