James Norman comes to Indianapolis from the Naples Philharmonic in southwest Florida, where he held the position of Co-Principal Librarian since 2010. Prior to his work in Naples, James served as the Principal Librarian of the Butler School of Music Performance Library at the University of Texas (2004-2010), a lecturer at Texas A&M University (2005-2007) and as Artistic Director of the Audio Inversions New Music Series in Austin (2004-2010). James is a composer, orchestrator and music program note annotator. He replaces the ISO’s former Principal Librarian, Michael Runyan, who recently retired.
