Musician Bio

Dianne Seo, originally from Irvine, California, joins the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra for the 2023-2024 Season. Prior to moving to Indianapolis, Dianne played as principal flute of the Boston Philharmonic Youth Orchestra, the Tanglewood Music Center Orchestra, and the New England Conservatory Philharmonia under conductors such as Andris Nelsons, Earl Lee, Hugh Wolff, and Benjamin Zander. She has also played as section member of the Pacific Symphony in 2022. 

As a chamber musician, Dianne has performed in world-renown venues including Hungary’s Festetics Palace, Prague’s Smetana Museum, Vienna’s MuTh, Boston’s Symphony Hall, and New York’s Carnegie Hall. In addition, she had the honor of traveling to Vladimir, Russia in 2018 as a soloist to perform with the Orange County School of the Arts Symphony Orchestra in which she was principal flutist.

Dianne holds a B.M from the New England Conservatory where she studied with Renée Krimsier. She has also had additional studies with Jim Walker, Diana Morgan, and Benjamin Smolen.
