Anton Bruckner once called Wagner "the unreachable world-famous noble master of poetry and music." Wagner's influence reached far and wide - his prelude to Tristan und Isolde was said to be a source of direct inspiration to composer Arnold Schoenberg. Anton Bruckner's Third Symphony was dedicated to Wagner and is regarded as Bruckner's artistic breakthrough.
