Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra returns to community green spaces with 2026 Symphony in the Parks series

The Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra returns this summer with the 2026 Symphony in the Parks series, bringing free outdoor concerts to neighborhoods across Indianapolis. Designed for audiences of all ages, the series invites families, friends, and music lovers to gather for relaxed evenings of live orchestral music in two of the city’s beloved parks.

The 2026 Symphony in the Parks series is made possible through the support of the Margot L. Eccles Arts & Culture Fund, a CICF fund, with premier support from the Indianapolis Colts, and with support from Indy Arts Council and the City of Indianapolis.

This year’s series includes two free performances led by conductor Daniel Wiley:

Ellenberger Park | Tuesday, July 14 | 7:30 p.m.
Families and community members are invited to enjoy an evening of live music in the heart of Ellenberger Park. Guests are encouraged to bring blankets, lawn chairs, and picnics for a fun and casual summer concert experience.

Garfield Park | Wednesday, July 15 | 7:30 p.m.
The ISO returns to Garfield Park for another evening of orchestral favorites under the stars. Audiences can relax on the lawn and experience live symphonic music in one of Indianapolis’ most historic parks.

The concerts will feature a mix of popular orchestral works, film music, and family-friendly favorites performed by the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra conducted by ISO Assistant Conductor, Hannah Schendel.

Symphony in the Parks continues the ISO’s longstanding tradition of bringing live music directly into the community and creating accessible arts experiences for audiences across Indianapolis.

Both concerts are free and open to the public.
