Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra, Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra Players Association ratify three-year labor agreement
INDIANAPOLIS—The Indiana Symphony Society, Inc. and the musicians of the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra, represented by the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra Players Association (ISOPA) and Local 3 of the American Federation of Musicians (AFM) have ratified a three-year labor agreement. The agreement comes ahead of the ISO’s popular AES Indiana Yuletide Celebration, which begins Friday, Dec. 5.
The three-year agreement covers the 78 ISOPA and AFM members in the bargaining unit.
“This agreement signifies a mutual dedication to artistic excellence, service to our community, and long-term sustainability,” said James Johnson, CEO. “As the ISO embarks on a new strategic plan, our musicians will play a vital role in achieving our vision to serve the community as a dynamic and unifying leader in the arts. The spirit of collaboration and mutual respect demonstrated in our constructive discussions with the musicians points toward a positive future for this orchestra.”
“This agreement reflects a shared commitment to strengthening the world-class orchestra our community knows and loves,” said Rick Graef, co-chair of the ISOPA negotiating committee. “The musicians are encouraged by the ISO strategic plan and recognize the collaborative spirit that brought us to this agreement. We look forward to continuing that partnership as we enter this next chapter and work together to ensure the ISO grows, thrives, and serves our community for generations to come.”
Tickets for the AES Indiana Yuletide Celebration are still available. Visit the ISO website or contact the ISO Box Office by calling (317) 639-4300.
