Sassy Violist

The Sassy Violist, also known as Amy Kniffen, has been professional violist of over 30 years. She believes that the art of storytelling is the most effective way to educate students of all ages. Kniffen has developed her own curriculum that combines elements of music, literature, poetry, history and social justice in an immersive experience that uses live music to educate. Kniffen is currently Acting Associate Principal Violist in the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra,

The Sassy Violist program’s mission is to provide music education for students and schools in need of music programs and exposure. We understand that many schools may not have the means to organize a field trip for students, so we are coming to you!
