Maurer Young Musicians Contest
From the pre-schooler who just can’t help but sing, move and play to the serious high school and college musician, the ISO offers opportunities to support their growth and development.
Student tickets are available for most concerts and are only $10. Side-by-Side allows talented high school musicians to play alongside ISO orchestra members. Our Audition Prep Masterclass serves as a recruitment event for colleges and universities from all over Indiana, as well as, an opportunity for young musicians to learn about their programs and participate in "mock" auditions.
The Young Musicians Contest encourages accomplished young Indiana musicians to set and achieve goals of technical and artistic excellence by providing an opportunity to perform in a competitive setting. Finally, the ISO's Metropolitan Youth Orchestra is a youth and family development program that uses the life skills learned in music instruction to engage youth in activities that discourage at-risk behaviors and keep them committed to staying in school.
