Why I Give: Helen Rudesill
Longtime Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra supporter and dedicated ISOA member Helen Rudesill has a passion for symphonic music that began in childhood: “I can remember as a child — 6 years old — we had in our living room an old radio. We didn’t have very good reception, but I can remember kneeling and pressing my ear to that radio so I could hear the orchestra from St. Louis.” Years later, one of her first dates with future husband Bob was to hear the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra.
Helen describes her support of the ISO through the planned gift she and her husband have pledged in their estate arrangements: “I am devoted to this Orchestra for what it has done and continues to do, not only for our community, but for anyone who has the privilege to hear this Orchestra throughout the state. I want so much to see something that brings joy to lives, and the only way to ensure that joy is through making a gift.”
The Lynn Society recognizes and honors those like the Rudesills who have remembered the Orchestra in their estate plans or other planned gift arrangements. Such gifts may also have income and tax benefits for you and your family.
