Below are the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra's special events for the 2017–2018 season. Tickets are now on sale for subscribers and donors—to purchase tickets, call the ISO Box Office at 317-639-4300, or add them to your cart during checkout when you purchase a subscription. Single tickets will go on sale to the general public on Tuesday, May 9 at 10:00 a.m. unless otherwise noted.

La La Land In Concert

Experience the original musical film like never before with a live symphony orchestra!  Winner of 6 Academy Awards® including Best Original Score and Best Original Song, La La Land tells the story of Mia (Emma Stone), an aspiring actress, and Sebastian (Ryan Gosling), a dedicated jazz musician, who are struggling to make ends meet in a city known for crushing hopes and breaking hearts. Set in modern day Los Angeles, this original musical about everyday life explores the joy and pain of pursuing your dreams.

Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter Carly Rae Jepsen makes her must-see ISO debut, performing her iconic hits with the ISO, plus intimate sets featuring guitar and string quartet.

Friday, January 5 at 8:00 p.m.

Leslie Odom, Jr., best known for the Tony-winning role of Aaron Burr in the original cast of Broadway's Hamilton, makes his Hilbert Circle Theatre debut with the ISO in this special one-night-only event!

Made famous for his piano/lead vocals in the Broadway musical Movin' Out, Michael Cavanaugh returns to the Hilbert Circle Theatre for a special one-night-only Valentine's Day concert performing romantic ballads and classic love songs.

On St. Patrick's Day weekend, the ISO and a full rock band take a musical journey spanning four decades of unforgettable hits including “With or Without You,” “I Still Haven’t Found What I’m Looking For,” “Pride (In the Name of Love),” “Sunday Bloody Sunday,” “Desire,” “One,” and many more. Formed in 1976 in Dublin, Ireland, U2 quickly climbed the charts and became one of the premiere rock bands of all time, selling more than 150 million records worldwide and earning 22 GRAMMY® Awards — more than any other band.

The Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra will be one of just four orchestras to participate in the John F. Kennedy Center for the Arts’ 2018 SHIFT Festival. The week-long festival is composed of mini-residencies, with each orchestra presenting education events, symposia, and community events in venues around Washington, D.C., along with full-orchestra performances in the Kennedy Center Concert Hall. The ISO will preview its Kennedy Center program—featuring music of Krzysztof Urbański’s homeland—in a special “bon voyage” concert on April 11th.
