The Performance

Mendelssohn’s Symphony No. 4, also known as the Italian Symphony, is meant to evoke the sights and sounds of Italy, and Mendelssohn called it “the jolliest piece I have so far written.” Berlioz’ symphony, written in response to the beauty of the Italian landscape, gives ISO Principal Violist Yu Jin a chance to show off a range of emotion while musically exploring the Italian countryside.
