The Performance

The rhythms and stylings of Hungarian folk and music of the Roma people influenced composers around the world. Hungarian violinist Kristóf Baráti exhibits technical fireworks in Tzigane and  Zigeunerweisen, a piece based on the themes of the Roma people and a favorite among violin virtuosos. Bartók’s most popular piece for full orchestra shows off the virtuosity of the ISO musicians and an Eastern European folk music influence, especially of his home country, Hungary.
