Greetings from Germany: Brahms’ 4th Symphony
Hilbert Circle Theatre
German conductor Kevin John Edusei brings Germany into the spotlight with renowned German cellist Maximilian Hornung as he plays Victor Herbert’s influential Cello Concerto, a stylistic piece with Irish, German, and American components. Contemporary German composer Wolfgang Rihm brings us a lush waltz, while Brahms’ crowd-pleasing fourth and final symphony looked apprehensively toward the 20th century.
