Second Chance Strings with MYO

As part of the ISO’s city-wide residency while in the nation’s capital, the ISO will be highlighting its program “Second Chance Strings." This event allows adults with no musical background to experience the thrill of their first performance within an hour of picking up an instrument.

Metropolitan Youth Orchestra students sit side-by-side with our guests, teaching adults the basics of holding and playing the instrument, culminating in an enthusiastic performance by all of the Pachelbel Canon in D.

This performance will take place on the Kennedy Center’s Millennium Stage and will also be livestreamed on the Kennedy Center’s website at 6pm on Friday, April 13. Following the Pachelbel Canon, which opens the concert, members of MYO will perform for the remainder of the hour-long performance.

The ISO’s Metropolitan Youth Orchestra is a program dedicated to transforming the lives of Indianapolis youth and their adult family members through music making. To learn more about this program, click here.
