Stravinsky's The Rite of Spring
Stravinsky's ground-breaking ballet and orchestral work The Rite of Spring, which became one of the most influential musical works of the last century, explores the coming of spring. Stanley Kubrick used the music of György Ligeti in some of his most famous movies, but the authentic folk tradition of Concert Românesc, once deemed "politically incorrect" because of some of the forbidden dissonances, became popular without a film. Fellow Hungarian composer Béla Bartók composed the one-act ballet The Wooden Prince, inspired by his love of nature.
