Urbański Conducts Mendelssohn
The recipient of a 2016 Avery Fisher Career Grant, violinist Alexi Kenney has been named "a talent to watch" by the New York Times. Kenney takes on Elgar's compelling Violin Concerto, written at the height of the composer's fame. Mendelssohn's Symphony No. 4, also known as the Italian Symphony, is meant to evoke the sights and sounds of Italy, and Mendelssohn called it "the jolliest piece I have so far written."
