It is both sacred and profane. It is of romantic love and carnal desire. The ISO, Indianapolis Symphonic Choir and the Indianapolis Children’s Choir, under Krzysztof Urbański, perform Carl Orff’s ecstatic Carmina Burana. If you have never experienced it live, in concert, prepare for a stunning experience.
Behind the Curtain
with Associate Conductor Vince Lee
"Carmina Burana is just rock and roll. Big and loud. This was the first piece of a trilogy of pieces that Orff wrote. The other two pieces are never performed. The whole piece is about love, life, gluttony, gambling, lust. It’s a very secular piece, but the very first words are 'oh fortune,' so very unique text.
"The Chichester Psalms by Bernstein is also a spectacular piece, this is one heck of a concert!"
