BERLIOZ REQUIEM

Indianapolis Symphonic Choir, Chorus
Eric Stark, Conductor
There could be no better way to conclude the Indianapolis Symphonic Choir’s 75th anniversary season than by featuring one of the largest choral-orchestral works. With more than 200 singers, The Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra, and 4 off-stage brass bands, this season of celebration ends on a high (and impressive) note. This piece was written by Berlioz to commemorate the French Revolution. He also reflected, “If I were threatened with the destruction of the whole of my works save one, I should crave mercy for the Messe des morts”
