The Lynn Society, established in 1995 by the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra, recognizes and honors those who have remembered the Symphony in their estate plans or other planned gift arrangements.
These gifts perpetuate the legacy left to us by Dorothy and Charles Lynn. Together, the Lynns provided dedicated stewardship to the Symphony for nearly half a century, beginning with the Symphony’s 1937 inaugural season. The Lynn Society legacy has provided an important opportunity for this orchestra to prepare for and build an exciting future.
Estate and planned gifts are an important source of funding for the Symphony’s endowment, an endowment that provides over a third of the Symphony’s operating support each year. Your planned gift will enable you to make a significant contribution towards the great music programs of our orchestra, and might, at the same time, have income and tax benefits for you and your family.
Members of The Lynn Society are recognized throughout the concert season in the Symphony's program book and in other Symphony publications. In addition, members are invited to special events exclusive to The Lynn Society members. The Lynn Society members receive the personalized attention of the Office of Development in all matters relating to the orchestra.
Planned gifts, which qualify you for membership in The Lynn Society, include naming the orchestra as a beneficiary in one of the following types of gift arrangements:
If you would like to learn more about creating a legacy to benefit the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra, the Office of Development and its Planned Giving Advisory Board are available to provide you and your legal/financial advisors with any information needed. *
