The Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra offers plenty of opportunities to learn more about music and your community!  Check out some of the offerings that are available to everyone.

The J. K Family Foundation Words on Music
New Time! One hour prior to each Lilly Classical Series concert, join ISO Cellist Geoffrey S. Lapin inside the concert hall for Words on Music, a behind-the-scenes discussion of each performance with conductors, guest artists and other special guests.  Sponsored by Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield.

Encores with Mario & Friends
The Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra is offering its Encores program, featuring fun and informal post-concert events at the Hilbert Circle Theatre. Maestro Mario Venzago and friends will fascinate, entertain, and inform. The events are free, and held in the Wood Room, just off of the Oval Promenade of the Hilbert Circle Theatre.

Family Chat
Family Chat is an inviting and informal discussion with the musicians following each St. Vincent Family Series concert. Parents and their youngsters may ask questions about the instruments and what they have seen and heard.

First Monday Music Club
ISO Cellist and popular Words on Music host Geoffrey S. Lapin hosts this casual gathering on the first Monday of every month in the Wood Room of the Hilbert Circle Theatre. Musicians, staff members, and special guests chat informally with the group, sharing fun facts and backstage secrets, followed by a brief social gathering.  Everyone is welcome - free and open to the public.  For more information, call 317.262.1897, or e-mail musicclub@IndianapolisSymphony.org.

Speakers' Bureau
The Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra Speakers' Bureau provides experienced staff members or volunteers who offer dynamic presentations about the Orchestra to your organization. Free of charge. Please call 317.229.7082 for more information.

Symphony Volunteers
There are dozens of ways you can volunteer with the ISO!  New volunteers are always welcome.  The Orchestra's largest group of volunteers, the Women's Committee, provides invaluable support to the Orchestra through special events, music education, and other important activities. Please call 317.262.5224 to find out more!

Hilbert Circle Theatre
The Circle Theatre opened in 1916 as one of the nation's first grand movie palaces. After a detailed and extensive renovation, it reopened on October 12, 1984 as the home of the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra. It was generously endowed by Stephen and Tomisue Hilbert in December 1996 and was renamed the Hilbert Circle Theatre.

The Theatre's intimate size (1,781 seats) and customized stage area for our 87-member ensemble create a superb venue for live performances.  The hall is available for rental for your special event.
